Iran rejects Trump's threats, warns 'hell will open for you'

TEHRAN, 06 April. - (ANA) - Iran has rejected Trump's threats made on Saturday to unleash "hell" on the country in 48 hours if it did not open the Strait of Hormuz, warning that "hell will open for you" while continuing attacks on Israel and Gulf countries.

Iranian General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi labelled Trump's threats as "a helpless, nervous, unbalanced and stupid action," in a statement issued by the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters on Saturday.

"The simple meaning of this message is that the gates of hell will open for you," he added, echoing Trump's own words.

Trump said in a post on Truth Social that "time was running out" following a deadline extension to his earlier threat in March, warning that he would destroy Iran's electricity grid if it did not open the Strait of Hormuz.

He added that there were "48 hours before all Hell will reign [sic] down on them."

Israel is reportedly prepared to strike Iranian energy facilities and is waiting for a US green light for the attack, an Israeli official has told Reuters.

US-Israeli strikes have increasingly targeted civilian infrastructure and sites in Iran over the last few days.

On Saturday, a US-Israeli strike landed in the perimeter of the Bushehr Nuclear Plant, killing one and prompting the evacuation of remaining Russian staff from the site.

Strikes also targeted the Special Petrochemical Zone of Mahshahr in southwestern Iran, wounding five, as well as the Shalamcheh border crossing with Iraq, killing an Iraqi citizen and prompting a brief closure of the crossing.

It follows from US strikes that destroyed the B1 bridge under construction between Tehran and Karaj.

Iran's science minister said on Saturday that 30 universities across the country have been attacked during the war. Iranian university have switched to online classes.

Iran's Fars News Agency quoted an Iranian official as saying that "we have a big surprise for America and the regime."

Iran has also previously listed a series of US companies in the region that it will target, including Apple, Boeing, Google, JP Morgan, and Microsoft, among others.

Iran on Sunday struck several key infrastructure sites across the Gulf, including petrochemical plants in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi, while two power and water desalination plants were attacked in Kuwait and were forced to shut down.

Kuwait's finance ministry also came under attack by drones, being damaged as a result. - (ANA) -
