Dubai reroutes cargo via Oman as shipping disruption hits GCC supply chains

DUBAI, 06 April. - (ANA) - Dubai launches temporary Oman green corridor via Hatta to reroute cargo and maintain supply chains amid disruption

Dubai has begun rerouting global cargo through Oman via a newly activated land corridor, as disruption to sea and air routes impacts supply chains across the Gulf.

The temporary measure, announced by Dubai Customs in coordination with the Directorate General of Customs in Oman, enables cargo to move overland through the Hatta border crossing and onward via Omani ports and airports to global destinations.

The move is aimed at maintaining the continuity of supply chains and ensuring the smooth flow of trade during what authorities described as a period of operational disruption affecting regional connectivity.

Under the new framework, cargo arriving in Dubai, including shipments from free zones, can be redirected via land routes through Oman before being shipped internationally.

The system applies to:

- Sea cargo routed from Dubai ports to Oman seaports for onward global shipping

- Air cargo processed in Dubai and transported by land to Oman airports for international distribution.  - (ANA) -
