Lebanese Baalbek city flattened by Israeli bombs
BEIRUT, 15 Nov. - (ANA) - Observers visited Lebanon's historic Baalbek city to witness how it has been flattened by Israeli bombardment.
Large parts of the city, along with villages and towns across the Bekaa Valley, have been reduced to rubble.
The Israeli military said it carried out air strikes along the border with Syria and Lebanon, with state media in Damascus saying that key infrastructure was targeted.
At least 15 people killed in Israeli strikes on Damascus, Syrian media
At least 15 people were killed and 16 injured in Israeli attacks on suburbs of the Syrian capital Damascus on Thursday, Syrian state news agency Sana said.
"The Israeli enemy launched an aerial aggression from the direction of the occupied Golan Heights targeting a number of residential buildings in the suburb of Mazzeh in Damascus and Qudsaya area in the countryside of Damascus," a military source was quoted as saying.
The source said children and women were among the victims, and that the strikes caused significant material damage to the attacked buildings and those next to them.
The war monitor Syrian Observatory for Human Rights put the death toll at 17. It said that 10 people were killed in Qudsaya and seven in Mazzeh.
The Israeli army said that it struck infrastructure sites and command centres belonging to the Islamic Jihad organisation in Syria.
"The strike inflicted significant damage to the terrorist organisation's command centre and to its operatives," it said. - (ANA) -
