Gazans 'cannot move again', says EU’s Borrell
BRUSSELS, 14 Oct. - (ANA) - EU foreign affairs minister Josep Borrell has criticised Israel’s attempt to push all remaining people out of north Gaza, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reported to be considering clearances.
“These people are exhausted, they cannot move again,” said Mr Borrell at a meeting of the EU’s foreign affairs ministers, adding that he would reiterate his call, alongside the UK’s Foreign Secretary David Lammy, for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.
Mr Borrell expressed frustrations at how long it took EU member states to agree on a statement on Sunday criticising Israel’s attacks on Unifil soldiers at the Lebanese border.
“Many European soldiers are there,” said Mr Borrell. “I’d appreciate if member states could reach an agreement on that quicker.” Also on the agenda were discussions to list the IRGC as a terrorist organisation but Mr Borrell said that no decision was expected on Monday. - (ANA) -
