GENEVA, 19 May. - (ANA) - By 2028, two scenarios could define global artificial Interlligence (AI) leadership, according to Anthropic.

 

In the first, the US and its democratic allies maintain a substantial lead by tightening export controls on advanced compute chips and countering China's attempts to circumvent restrictions, enabling democracies to set AI norms and engage China on safety. 

 

In the second scenario, failure to act allows China, under CCP control, to catch up or surpass the US due to loopholes and distillation attacks, leading to authoritarian dominance over AI, enabling large-scale repression and global power shifts. 

 

Maintaining US-led innovation and policies is crucial to preserving democratic values and preventing authoritarian misuse of transformative AI.   - (ANA) -
