 UAE air defences engage 10 ballistic missiles, 45 drones from Iran
ABU DHABI, 18 March. - (ANA) - Since the start of the conflict, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) says it has engaged 314 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,672 drones, with 2 armed forces members and 6 civilians killed and 157 injured.
UAE air defence systems engaged 10 ballistic missiles and 45 unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran on Tuesday, the Ministry of Defence said, as the conflict continues to spill across the region.
The latest attacks form part of a broader escalation, with the UAE saying its air defences have engaged 314 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,672 UAVs since the onset of what it described as Iranian aggression.
The Ministry of Defence said the attacks resulted in the death of two members of the armed forces while performing their national duty.
Six civilians were also killed, including nationals of Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Palestine, according to the statement.
A total of 157 people have been injured, with cases ranging from minor to severe. Those injured include nationals from a wide range of countries, reflecting the UAE’s diverse population.
The ministry said it remains fully prepared to respond to any threats and will “firmly confront” attempts to undermine the country’s security, sovereignty and stability. - (ANA) -
