UAE GDP up 5.1 per cent to $381bn in first nine months of 2025 as non-oil sector tops $272bn

ABU DHABI, 21 Feb. - (ANA) - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) GDP expanded 5.1 per cent to $381 billion in first nine months of 2025, with non-oil sector exceeding $272 billion, according to FCSC.

The growth was underpinned by robust performance in the non-oil economy, reflecting the country’s continued progress toward diversification and long-term structural reform.

According to data from the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre (FCSC), the non-oil sector grew 6.1 per cent during the same period, surpassing AED1tn ($272.2 billion).

The minister attributed the expansion to the UAE’s transition toward a diversified, knowledge-based economy supported by a competitive legislative and business environment.

The performance aligns with the “We the UAE 2031” vision, which aims to double the country’s GDP to AED3tn ($816.7 billion) by the next decade.

Sectoral data from the FCSC showed that financial and insurance activities recorded the fastest growth at 9 per cent. Construction followed at 8.7 per cent, real estate at 7.9 per cent and manufacturing at 6.9 per cent.

In terms of overall contribution to non-oil GDP, wholesale and retail trade remained the largest component, accounting for 16.1 per cent.

Manufacturing contributed 13.9 per cent, while financial services and construction accounted for 13.5 per cent and 11.9 per cent, respectively.

Hanan Ahli, Managing Director of the FCSC, stated that the results highlight the resilience of the UAE’s economic model amid global shifts. She noted that the integration of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence into national statistical systems has improved policy efficiency and development planning.

As the UAE advances its diversification agenda, sustained non-oil growth and sectoral breadth position the economy to maintain momentum in the coming quarters, reinforcing its role as a regional and global business hub.  - (ANA) -
