Investigators detect a signal from crashed airliner

Comoros, 08 July – (ANA) - Comorian and French investigators have

detected a signal from the Yemenia Airbus A310, which crashed off the

Comoros last week.

"Investigators from the BEA have detected a signal from the flight

recorders," said the Comoros lead investigator Ali Abdou Mohamed in a

statement. The statement has been confirmed by an official from

France's Analysis and Enquiries Bureau (BEA)

All but one of the 153 passengers died in the crash, last Tuesday. It

has caused angry protests in the French city of Marseille, which is

home to up to 100,000 people of Comorian origin. (ANA)
