 US, Nigeria sign $5.1bn health MOU, largest co?investment under America First strategy
ABUJA, 22 Dec. - (ANA) - The United States has signed a five-year, $5.1 billion bilateral health cooperation agreement with Nigeria, a move that signals continued strategic engagement despite recent strains in relations between Washington and Abuja.
The agreement involves $2.1 billion from the US and $3 billion in domestic funding by Nigeria under the America First Global Health Strategy.
The collaboration addresses critical health challenges in Nigeria, such as reducing malaria prevalence and improving maternal and child health outcomes.
Approximately $200 million is allocated for Christian faith-based healthcare facilities, benefiting underserved communities. - (ANA) -
