Europe must prepare for rise in Covid-19 deaths in October and November, warns WHO

GENEVA, 15 Sept. - (ANA) - As Europe battles the resurgent coronavirus, the World Health Organisation says worse may be to come.

In some places infection rates are at a similar level or even higher than they were at the height of the cirsis.

So far there hasn't been a corresponding spike in deaths, but the WHO says we can expect one.

"It's going to get tougher. In October, November, we are going to see more mortality," Hans Kluge, Director of WHO's European office, said.

He also went on to urge caution around hopes for a Covid-19 vaccine, stressing that it may not signal the end of the pandemic.  - (ANA) -
