MADRID 17 Aug (ANA) - A total of eight prostitutes in a Spanish tourist hotspot have tested positive for coronavirus.

 

Authorities in Alcázar de San Juan, Spain, are probing an “extremely worrying” outbreak linked to a brothel.

 

The investigation is being hampered by the unwillingness of the sex workers' clients to identify themselves.

 

Four men in the city of 30,000 have been traced back to the brothel, and told to go into isolation.

 

Locals say there will be many more but they won’t come forward because of secret visits and sex work stigma.

 

Health chiefs have said eight sex workers have tested positive, despite the women adhering to safety regulations.(ANA)
