Brasilia, 08 July. - (ANA) - The president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, has tested positive for coronavirus after playing down the risks of what he has called the “little flu”. 

 

Bolsonaro, who took the test on Monday after developing symptoms, has opposed lockdowns and other preventative measures. 

 

Brazil has registered 1,668,589 Covid-19 cases and 66,741 deaths making it the second-highest number of Covid-19 cases and deaths in the world, after the US which has recorded 2,976,487 coronavirus infected people and 128,454 deaths.

 

India has now the third highest number of Covid-19 cases at 742,417 and 20,642 deaths.   - (ANA) -
