Nigerians cautious as lockdown eased
ABUJA 4 May (ANA) - Businesses reopened today after the easing of lockdown imposed on 30 March by the Nigerian authorities following the coronavirus outbreak.
In Lagos, the commercial hub, the usual traffic jams were absent, indicating that many have chosen to reman indoors.
Last week, President Muhammadu Buhari said the measures had imposed "a very heavy economic cost".
Standard Chartered Bank has predicted that Nigeria's economy will only grow by 0.2% this year due to the pandemic.(ANA)
