ABIDJAN 7 Jan (ANA) - President Alassane Ouattara of Ivory Coast has said he plans to modify the constitution ahead of the presidential election in October.

 

He said the proposed changes would make the constitution more coherent, though he did not give any details.

 

He dismissed speculation that an age limit would be imposed for candidates, which would bar two of his main rivals, Laurent Gbagbo and Henri Konan Bedie from standing.

 

Mr Ouattara has not said whether he will run for another term.(ANA)
