Fire rages Primark store in Belfast


BELFAST 28 Aug (ANA) - Pictures have emerged of firefighters battling the flames in Castle Street, Belfast after the fire erupted at around 11am this morning, Tuesday August 28.

Eight fire engines and an aerial appliance are currently at the scene of the fire. 

Shoppers on a busy Tuesday morning have been evacuated from the building, which has recently undergone refurbishment.

PUP Councillor JulieAnn Corr-Johnston told Belfast Live: "The Primark building in Belfast City Centre has caught fire. Emergency services are responding.

"Hope everyone has made it out safely."

Chris Woodhouse tweeted a video of the flames pouring out of the window and said: “Major blaze at Bank Buildings in Belfast City Centre.”

Dani McAteer tweeted: “Primark in Belfast currently on fire look like its coming from the stock rooms, loads of fire engines at the scene.”(ANA)
