WFP’s video from Yemen shows growing hunger and desperation

ROME, 27 July. - (ANA) – A WFP communications team is on the ground in Yemen, visiting both government- and rebel-controlled parts of the war-torn country. We are there, shooting video and interviewing people on the front lines of the conflict which has caused what many regard as the worst humanitarian situation in the world today.
Places being visited include the key port city of Hodeidah, which has of late been the scene of fierce fighting, and Saa’da in the north-west, an area from which hardly any images have come in recent years. Rebel-held Saa’da is believed to have some of the worst malnutrition levels in this country where 8 million people now face extreme hunger.
Please contact us if you would like to see the video footage or photographs taken there this week. We will have available for interview WFP’s Yemen Country Director Stephen Anderson as well as WFP’s Head of TV Communications Jonathan Dumont who is filming in Yemen.
