Nigerian military chiefs ordered to relocate to Maiduguri
Abuja 30 Jul (ANA) - Nigerian military chiefs have been ordered to relocate to the north-eastern city of Maiduguri following an attack by suspected Boko Haram militants which is thought to have killed more than 40 people. Exploration workers searching for oil in Nigeria's conflict-ridden north-east, were ambushed as they returned to the city on Tuesday. The team was made up of officials from the state oil firm, university researchers and staff. A rescue was attempted by military personnel and vigilantes - many of whom were killed. The Nigerian Defence Minister Mansur Ali said the military struggled to assert its dominance during the rainy season.(ANA)
