Le Pen advisor warns of civil war after French election
Paris 22 Apr (ANA) - French presidential hopeful Marine Le Pen’s campaign coordinator has warned of imminent civil war if the country is left “feeble” ahead of the most intense election in decades. Jean Messiha spoke to BBC Newsnight in the wake of a horror terror attack on the streets of the French capital that left one police officer dead. Ms Le Pen’s advisor said the firebrand Front National leader is the only person who can heal “divisions” in France following a string of devastating terror attacks over the past five years. He added: “She is the only one who can heal the division in this country because she is the only one to call for authority back in the streets of Paris and the state must use its authority to restore state power in the streets. “If the state is feeble, you will have massive terrorist attacks – more and more in quantity and deaths, and this time, there will be civil war.” Paris was rocked on Thursday after 37-year-old officer Xavier Jugele was gunned down on the Champs-Elysée by a gunman known to police. Mr Jugele was a responder at the horrific Bataclan attack in November 2015, where Islamic State terrorists murdered 89 innocent concert-goers.(ANA)
