Chad opposition leader arrested

N'Djamena 10 Oct (ANA) - A leader of an opposition party in Chad is expected to appear in court after he was arrested by the police for calling on his fellow citizens not to pay taxes. Dinamou Daram, who heads the Socialism Without Border party and who is a member of a coalition protesting against the reelection of President Idriss Deby, was arrested on Friday by the police. He had released a statement calling for civil disobedience in response to alleged "bad governance by a regime that is incompetent in the management of public resources."  The Fonac coalition of which Mr Daram's socialist party is a member has demanded his immediate release.
