Morocco: Ten million to receive vocational training

BRUSSELS, 07 April. - (ANA) - The EU-funded European Training Foundation (ETF) has announced its ambition to push forward education and training in Morocco. “Ten million people, including society's most vulnerable, will gain vocational education and training (VET) qualifications over the next five years under an ambitious new EUR 6.5 million strategy,” the Foundation said on its website on Monday 4 April 2016. “Training everywhere, for everyone, throughout life”, is the motto of Morocco’s VET Strategy 2021, supported by the ETF.
The European Training Foundation is a decentralised agency of the European Union based in Turin, Italy.

The Moroccan government will finance 35 percent of the projected costs. Fifty percent will be covered by enterprise through tax, while households will foot the remaining 15 percent of the bill.

Morocco is a key partner for the EU in the South Mediterranean and one of 29 ETF partner countries. The ETF will support the the strategy implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the strategy. - (ANA) -
