DR Congo troops 'flee into Uganda' after rebel clashes
Kampala, 06 Jul – (ANA) - Congolese soldiers have fled into Uganda following clashes with rebels, residents of the border town of Bunagana have revealed.
Several Bunagana inhabitants said that many soldiers had crossed the border, where they had been disarmed by Uganda's security forces.
A rebel spokesman has told the AFP news agency that they have seized the town but this has not been confirmed.
Bosco Ntaganda's rebels took up arms in Democratic Republic of Congo in April.
They defected from the army after pressure increased on the government to arrest Gen Ntaganda, who is accused of war crimes by the International Criminal Court. (ANA)
