WASHINGTON, 16 Sept. - (ANA) - The US military has a “large numbers” of interceptors and missiles after defence contractors pushed up production to historic levels, President Donald Trump has said in a social media post.

 

“I’ve just received a report that the United States is producing more exquisite and elite weapons than at any time in our history. They are being delivered on a daily basis to our forces in the Middle East and beyond,” he wrote on Truth Social.

 

There had been reports that the US military had significantly depleted its stockpile of missiles for its Patriot and Thaad air defence systems in its war on Iran. Mr Trump invoked the Defence Production Act in June to make companies prioritise and expedite orders for military equipment and munitions.   - (ANA) -
