ABUJA, 18 August. - (ANA) - The Muslim World League, in collaboration with the Jama’atu Izalatil Bidiah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), convenes an international security conference in Abuja to deliberate on peace, national unity, religious harmony and security.
The conference is expected to bring together religious leaders, policymakers and other stakeholders to examine the relationship between peace, security and socio-economic development.
It will also promote dialogue, mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence among Muslims, Christians and adherents of other faiths.
The conference is expected to examine practical ways of strengthening security, interfaith dialogue, national cohesion and socio-economic development.
Muslim World League Secretary Mohammad Al-Issa visited Abuja to take part in the conference proceedings and oversee the signing of a landmark interfaith peace accord between over 50 Muslim and Christian leaders, following repeated scrutiny by US President Donald Trump on the treatment of Christians in Nigeria. - (ANA) -
