Campaign Calls for International Mobilisation at Bridges of Resistance Camp in Hamburg
HAM<BURG, GERMANY, 09 May. - (ANA) - At a time of escalating wars, growing militarisation, and authoritarian shifts across Europe, activists, movements, and political actors are coming together in Hamburg to organise transnational solidarity and resistance.
From 9 to16 May 2026, the “Bridges of Resistance” Camp will take place at Hamburg’s Moorweide, bringing together participants from across Europe and beyond to connect struggles, exchange strategies, and build collective resistance against war policies, militarisation, state repression, and social injustice.
Hamburg is a symbolic and strategic location for this mobilisation. As one of Germany’s most important ports, it represents the country’s central role in the global arms trade. The camp aims to expose and challenge the connections between war, capital interests, and political complicity.
While billions are being invested in military expansion, social rights and public services continue to be dismantled. At the same time, as the genocide in Gaza unfolds before the world, the German government continues its political and military support. Organisers of the “Stop Nakba Now” campaign stress that international solidarity and collective action are urgently needed.
“Bridges of Resistance” seeks to unite struggles:
- Against genocide and occupation
- Against social inequality and austerity policies
- Against the authoritarian transformation of states across Europe
Throughout the week, participants will take part in workshops, discussions, assemblies, and direct actions designed to strengthen cooperation between anti-war, anti-racist, social justice, and pro-democracy movements.
The camp will conclude on 16 May 2026 at 15:00 with the nationwide mass demonstration “Stop Nakba Now” at the Hamburg Landungsbrücken, followed by a public concert. - (ANA) -
