IAEA says Iran's nuclear stockpile probably in same place it was before 2025 attacks
VIENNA, 26 June. - (ANA) - UN nuclear watchdog chief Rafael Grossi says there is a "widespread impression" that Iran's nuclear stockpile has remained where it is since inspections were suspended after US-Israel attacks on the country in June 2025.
Iran said it had no plans to allow inspectors near the facility.
Speaking at a media conference in Japan, Mr Grossi said there was a need for the "very strong" verification of Iran's nuclear weapons programme, while talks with Tehran are pending.
"Initial conversations have taken place ... we expect this work to pick up soon," he said. The US-Iran deal gives International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors access to Iran.
"There is an agreement and to comply with that agreement, the IAEA will have to have access and inspect," he added. "We hope to be there soon." - (ANA) -
