BRUSSELS, 28 Feb. - (ANA) - David McAllister, Chair of the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, made a statement on the events currently unfolding in Iran.

 

"Today, the developments in the whole Middle East are unprecedented. For years, the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs has called for a neutralisation of the Iranian regime's oppression against its own people and for an end to its malign actions through its proxies. I stand in solidarity with our regional partners. Israel, Jordan and the Gulf countries have been targeted by Iranian strikes and ballistic missiles as a retaliation for US strikes on Tehran and other parts of the country. I call for maximum restraint. A regional war in the Middle East must be avoided at all costs!"   - (ANA) -
