Israeli forces kill at least 12 Palestinians in strikes on Gaza

ISRAELI OCCUPIED GAZA, 16 Feb. - (ANA) - Israeli forces have killed at least 12 Palestinians in attacks across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, Palestinian civil defence and health officials said.

Five people were killed and several injured when an air strike targeted a tent sheltering displaced people in Jabalia in the north, the agency said in a statement.

Five more were killed and several injured in a separate early morning strike in the southern city of Khan Yunis, the agency said, adding that one more was killed in Israeli shelling in Gaza City.

The agency also said that one person was killed by Israeli gunfire in Beit Lahia in north Gaza.

The Al-Shifa and Nasser hospitals confirmed they had received the bodies of at least seven people.

Sunday's incident is the latest of Israel's daily violations of the ceasefire agreement that has been in effect in the Gaza Strip since 10 October. Over 600 Palestinians have been killed since.

This also comes as the Israeli army carried out demolition operations in the town of Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip.

Local media also reported that Israeli artillery shelled eastern areas of the Tuffah neighbourhood, the al-Bureij refugee camp, and the city of Khan Younis.

Gunfire attacks were also reported in the Shujaiya and Zeitoun neighbourhoods east of Gaza City, and the north of Rafah.  - (ANA) -
