Nigeria’s ex-President loses wife

Abuja, 30 Dec-(ANA)-Former First Lady of Nigeria, Mrs Maryam Babangida, has died after a long battle with ovarian cancer.

Her husband and former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), wept as prayers were being said for the deceased as she was being buried at the family premises in Minna, Niger State.

Aged 61, Mrs Babaginda died in the US on Sunday where she had been receiving treatment.  She is survived by her husband and four children. (ANA)
