MEP delegation denied access to Gaza Strip
Gaza, 11 Dec-(ANA)-A delegation of MEPs (members of the European Parliament) has been refused entry into Gaza despite an earlier approval by the Israeli authorities.
Entry for all members of the delegation was rescinded "on security grounds" and "without further explanation", the MEPs said.
They insist "on a full explanation of the security risks claimed by Israel" for refusing the delegation entry to Gaza.
"My delegation has a responsibility to retain and develop relations with elected members of the Palestinian Liberation Council (PLC) and to promote the policy of the EU in the region", said Pronsias de Rossa, chair of Parliament's delegation. (ANA)
