New UN projects to speed up global anti-poverty goals
New York, 13 Nov-(ANA)-Ninety new United Nations development projects will be launched over the next three years to help achieve the Millennium Development Goals aimed at slashing a host of social ills, including extreme hunger and poverty, reports say.
Other areas affected by the projects include infant and maternal
mortality, and lack of access to education and health care.
“This is an incredible opportunity to think more strategically about how,
working together, we can accelerate progress on the MDGs and the other goals
which loom large in nations’ development strategies,” said UN Development Programme
Administrator Helen Clark. (ANA)
