Abuja, 21 Aug-(ANA)-A Nigerian made armoured car has been launched in Abuja, by the Minister of the FederalCapitalTerritory, Adamu Aliero, who represented President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
It is the first home made armoured vehicle, with most of the materials used in its production sourced locally, while others were imported.
It was built by two Nigerian brothers, Victor and Johnson Obasa, who recently relocated from the United States of America.
The brothers are based in EkitiState and own Mobile Truck Technology, the company behind creation of the armoured vehicle.
They have pledged to produce a vehicle that would meet international standards at a reasonable price.
In a message, President Yar’Adua called on talented Nigerians within and outside the country to come out and contribute to the development of their country.
Minister for science and Technology, Al-Hassan Zaku who was at the occasion said the ministry would send a team of engineers to the base where the truck was built to examine the product.(ANA)
