Ghana envoy kidnapped in Guinea

Conakry, 14 Aug-(ANA)-Armed men in Conakry have attacked Ghana's ambassador to Guinea robbing him of his mobile phone, cash, watch, shoes and other personal items.

Reports say Ghanaian diplomat Dominic Boagye was kidnapped for several hours by the men who beat him up after ramming into the back of his Toyota Land Cruiser.

Witnesses confirmed the incident to the AFP news agency saying the attackers wore military uniforms.

Guinea has been under military rule since last December, when the army seized control shortly after the death of long-time president Lansana Conte.

The government has since expressed profound concern about the incident. 9ANA)
