ZIMBABWE/ROAD CRASHBack

Many die in Zimbabwe bus crash

Harare, 2 Aug-(ANA)-At least 33 people were killed and several injured when an overtaking bus hit an oncoming truck on a notorious road in Zimbabwe.

Most of the dead were on the bus, which overturned three times.

The Harare to Masvingo road is one of the most dangerous in the country. Much of the country's infrastructure has fallen into disrepair.

In March, the wife of Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai was killed in a car crash on the same road.

A police spokesman, Andrew Phiri, told Zimbabwe Broadcasting Company that the accident on Sunday happened about 90km (55 miles) south of Harare.

The bus was travelling towards Masvingo. (ANA)
