Chinese soldiers in UN peace mission in DR. Congo

Lanzhou, 02 July-(ANA)-A batch of Chinese soldiers totaling 100 has left for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) for an eight-month UN peace-keeping operation, Agency reports say.

The soldiers will be joined by a second batch of 118 who are scheduled to depart on July 12.

The soldiers, from the Lanzhou Military Area Command, comprises military engineers and medical staff. They will carry out landmine detection, maintenance of airport and transportation facilities, and disease prevention in the central African country. (ANA)
