Washington, 10 June-(ANA)-The White House has confirmed that President Barack Obama will meet Zimbabwe Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai during his current visit to the United States.
U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Johnnie Carson told Reuters that the US government would like to see a change on human rights and the rule of law before providing “substantial aid” to Harare.
Carson said Washington won’t lift travel or financial sanctions against those most responsible for undermining Zimbabwe’s democracy and destroying its economy. (ANA)
