Abuja, 15 Dec-(ANA)-A Scottish man working for an oil services firm in Nigeria was has been freed two weeks after gunmen kidnapped him in the restive Niger Delta, a military spokesman said. "I can confirm he was released.
I don't have any further information," said Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa.
Gunmen kidnapped the Scottish expatriate on Nov. 27 in Port Harcourt, the main city of the Niger Delta, the heartland of Africa's biggest oil and gas industry.
Kidnappings for ransom are frequent in the restive Niger Delta. Hundreds of foreigners have been seized in the region since early 2006, most of whom have been released unharmed.(ANA)
