Kenyan patient shows Ebola symptons

NAIROBI 17 Jun (ANA) - A woman with Ebola symptons is being treated in a West Kenyan hospital, Kericho county government says.

Blood samples have been taken and results are expect within the next 24 hours.

An Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has killed more than 1,400 people. In neighbouring DR Congo and kenya, two people died of the disease in Uganda last week.

Kericho Health officials  say the patient had travelled from Malaba, the border with Uganda.

The woman had gone to the hospital with  fever, headache, joint pains, sore throat and vomiting.

She later developed diarrhoea but I'm told her condition is now improving. She also had diarrhoea which has now gone into remission.

The woman's blood samples have been taken to Nairobi for tests.(ANA)
