Mogadishu 16 Oct (ANA) - A massive bomb attack in a busy area of the Somali capital Mogadishu on Saturday is now known to have killed at least 300 people, Reuters news agency reports. At least 300 others were wounded, AFP news agency reports, when a lorry packed with explosives was detonated near the entrance of a hotel. Reuters quotes Ahmed Ali, a nurse working at a local hospital, as saying 160 bodies couldn't be recognised so they were buried by the government yesterday. He says the others were buried by their relatives. It is the deadliest terror attack in Somalia since militant  al-Shabab group launched its insurgency in 2007. President Mohamed Abdullahi "Farmajo" Mohamed blamed the attack on them, calling it a "heinous act". "We have confirmed 300 people died in the blast. The death toll will still be higher because some people are still missing," Abdikadir Abdirahman, the director of the city's ambulance service, told Reuters.(ANA)
