TUNIS, 10 July . - (ANA) - The European Union (EU) Head of Delegation in Tunisia Laura Baeza and the Tunisian Minister for Development, Investment and International Cooperation, Yassine Brahim, yesterday signed the fourth Recovery Support Programme with a €100 million allocation to accompany reforms in Tunisia.
The programme aims to support the implementation of reforms jointly agreed by Tunisia and the EU. The assistance will focus on three main areas:
• Supporting democratic transition, by supporting the establishment of the Constitutional Court, and decentralisation efforts, in view of organising local elections and bridging the gap between the Tunisian administration and citizens;
• Fighting unemployment mainly by strengthening the vocational training system and boosting social dialogue;
• Reform of public governance, focusing on the modernisation of key government functions including the fiscal framework, statistical system and tax administration. - (ANA)
