TOKYO, 8 July. - (ANA) - In a message on the occasion of South Sudan’s fourth independence anniversary, Japanese Ambassador to South Sudan recalls how the country hardly earned a nation after decades of struggle, urging the warring leaders to prioritize peace to end human suffering as soon as possible.

Ambassador Kiya Masahiko says Japan commits to standing with the South Sudanese in good and bad times to achieve a society with unity, peace and prosperity.

The Japanese diplomat recalls that Japan was 70 years ago reduced to ashes by war and that it followed the path of a peace-loving nation, managing with unwavering efforts to achieve peace and prosperity.

Japan assists in addressing some critical needs of South Sudan including infrastructure, agriculture, health, education, vocation training, governance and security through United Nations and some Japanese NGOs.- (ANA)
