Rabat, 17 July. - (ANA) - At the invitation of King Mohammed VI, the official visit that King Don Felipe VI of Spain has paid to Morocco after his enthronment reflects the strong ties between the two kingdoms.
King Mohammed VI and his Spanish guest expressed the resolve to give more impetus to the strategic bilateral relations and consolidate the neighbourliness bonds, said Morocco's ambassador in Spain, Mohammed Fadel Benyaich.
Accompanied by Queen Dona Leitizia of Spain, the Spanish monarch was warmly welcomed by his Moroccan counterpart with whom he has entertained close relations when the two were crown princes.
The visit reflects the strong and friendly personal ties and the excellent economic and political ties uniting Morocco and Spain.
The Spanish Royal couple's first visit is the first to an African country and is taking place one year after the father of the Present monarch, King Juan Carlos, visited Morocco, as part of continuous and permanent contacts between officials of the two countries. The links between the two kingdoms go back for centuries and the consolidation of bilateral ties are based on mutual respect, confidence, win-win cooperation and transparency.
Spain has also become, for the first time, Morocco's first trading partner, ahead of France. The two countries have also intensified political, economic, social, cultural and human cooperation. - (ANA)
